Battle Bey X Privacy Policy

App: Battle Bey X (iOS / Android)  ·  Developer: HSINHAN CHEN  ·  Contact: shchen0424@gmail.com
Effective date: October 18, 2026 (previous update: October 9, 2026)  ·  繁體中文版

This Privacy Policy explains how “Battle Bey X” (the “App”, available on iOS and Android) handles information about you. By using the App you agree to the practices described here. Differences between the two platforms are noted where they apply. This is an English translation of the Traditional Chinese original; if the two differ, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.

1. Information we collect

Scoring, practice, connecting the Battle Pass over Bluetooth, browsing flash-sale alerts and browsing meet-ups do not require an account. You only need to sign in to post a meet-up, leave a comment, or take part in the spin-speed leaderboard. The developer does not collect your real name, email address, phone number or payment information. Information related to you comes from the following sources:

  • Advertising information (through Google AdMob): to show and measure ads, third-party ad services may collect the device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, advertising ID on Android), IP address, device model and operating-system version, approximate location derived from the IP address, and ad interaction data. Sponsors do not see ads.
  • Push-notification information: when you turn on push notifications, the developer stores the “device push token” generated for your device (an Apple device token on iOS, a Google FCM token on Android) and the preferences you set (for example channels and keywords you do not want alerts for), in order to deliver sale and restock alerts to that device. This token cannot be used to identify you and is not shared with ad services or any third party.
  • Connection information for flash-sale alerts: when you view the “Flash-sale alerts” page, the App requests the latest list from a server operated by the developer. The request includes your IP address, which is used only for rate limiting to prevent abuse. It is kept temporarily as a per-minute counter and automatically deleted after at most 90 seconds. It is not linked to any account or device identifier and is not used to identify individuals.
  • Account information (only when you sign in): the iOS version uses “Sign in with Apple” and the Android version uses “Sign in with Google”. The developer only receives the provider’s stable user identifier (used to recognize the same person signing in again) and does not obtain or store your email address. We also store the nickname you choose (shown publicly to other users), the time the account was created, and whether you are a sponsor.
  • Content you post (only when you post): the title you enter when creating a meet-up or tournament, the meeting place you pick on the map (coordinates, city/county and place note), time slot, number of participants, entry fee and registration link, and your comments. This content, together with your nickname, is visible to every user. The meeting place is a location you choose on the map, not your device’s real-time location.
  • Spin-speed leaderboard results (only when you take part): your best spin speed for the month, number of launches, statistics such as average and consistency, the Battle Pass battery level and the launcher’s cumulative launch count at the time of your best result, and the spin-speed curve of that best launch, shown on the leaderboard under your nickname.
  • Reports and blocks: the content you report and your reason (reporting works without signing in), and the users you block, used for content moderation and to keep blocked users out of your view.
  • Sponsor purchases: payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); the developer never receives your payment details and only records “is a sponsor”. To confirm that a sponsorship is genuine and has not been refunded (used by the sponsors-only Discord channel), the iOS version sends the transaction identifier, and the Android version sends the Google Play purchase token, to the developer’s server, which verifies it with Apple or Google. These credentials are used only for verification and contain no payment details.
  • Using your sponsorship on Android (optional): an iOS sponsor can choose, under “Settings > Player profile”, to link the sponsorship to their own Google account, and then enjoy the sponsorship on Android by signing in with the same Google account. When linking, you prove through Google’s sign-in screen that the Google account is yours; the developer’s server only receives and stores the stable account identifier provided by Google and the identifier of this sponsorship transaction, and does not obtain or store your email address or name. Google sign-in is used only for this link; it is not the sign-in method of the iOS version (which remains “Sign in with Apple”), and the App keeps no Google sign-in state after linking is complete. Each sponsorship can be linked to only one Google account and cannot be changed afterwards; sponsorships obtained through Family Sharing cannot be linked. Not linking does not affect your use of the App.
  • Discord linking (optional): sponsors may choose to link a Discord account to the sponsors’ channel. The developer then stores your Discord user ID and user name, used to grant and revoke the sponsor role. Not linking does not affect your use of the App.
  • YouTube / Google data (only when you choose to sign in to YouTube): see Section 2-2. This data only travels between your phone and Google / YouTube and is never sent to the developer’s servers.

2. Use of Bluetooth and the microphone

The App uses Bluetooth only to connect to the “Battle Pass” physical accessory and read launch spin-speed values on your device. This data is shown locally only and is not uploaded, stored on a server, or shared with any third party (except that, if you choose to join the spin-speed leaderboard, your results are uploaded as described in Section 1).

Microphone (optional): the App requests microphone permission in only two situations: (1) you actively press record under “Settings > READY voice” to record your own ready-to-launch voice clip (up to 10 seconds, up to three clips); (2) you turn on “Battle recording” or “Practice recording”, in which case the video also records the sound around you by default (see Section 4; you can turn off audio capture under “Settings > Recording”). This audio is stored only in the App’s private space on your device and is never uploaded to any server or sent to the developer or any third party; you can delete it at any time, and it is removed when you uninstall the App. No other feature of the App uses the microphone. You can also turn off the App’s microphone permission in system settings at any time without affecting other features.

Android 12 and later use the “Nearby devices” permission and declare that it is not used to infer location. On Android 11 and earlier the operating system requires the “Location” permission for Bluetooth scanning; this is only an OS requirement, and the App does not read, record or upload your location.

2-1. Accessibility service (Android only, optional “Auto-enter” feature)

The Android version’s “Store draws” offers an optional “Auto-enter” feature that can enter store draws on your behalf. It requires you to read the explanation in the App and tap agree, and then turn on the App’s “Accessibility service” yourself in system settings (name: Battle Bey X Draw Helper). It does nothing unless you turn it on, and it does not affect other features.

  • What it does: only on LINE’s “Official account coupon” page, it reads the text of buttons on screen and taps “Add friend”, “Unblock and enter the draw” (only if you separately allow this in the App), “Enter the draw” and “Close” on your behalf. It never taps “Use coupon”.
  • What it does not do: the service’s scope is restricted to LINE in system settings; it does not read other apps, does not take screenshots, does not record your input, and does not collect, store or transmit any screen content or personal data — all decisions are made instantly on your phone.
  • Your control: you can turn the service off at any time under “System settings > Accessibility”, and press “Stop” in the App at any time; while it runs, a floating stop button is shown over LINE.
  • Note: entering draws automatically may not comply with the rules of LINE or the stores; risks such as account restrictions are yours to bear.

2-2. YouTube / Google data (optional “Live streaming” feature)

The App offers an optional YouTube live-streaming feature. The App asks Google for permission only when you choose to sign in to YouTube; not signing in does not affect any other feature.

  • Permission requested: the read-only scope youtube.readonly (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly). The App never publishes, modifies or deletes anything on your YouTube account.
  • Purposes (only these three):
    1. to detect your current YouTube live broadcast;
    2. to obtain that broadcast’s stream URL and stream key so the App can stream your own screen to your own channel;
    3. to read the live chat messages of that broadcast and show them on your phone or, as a sponsor feature, overlay them on the live video.
  • How the data is stored:
    • The authorization credentials are stored by the Google Sign-In SDK in the Keychain on your phone.
    • The stream key is obtained from YouTube at the moment you go live and is not persistently stored; if you paste a stream key manually, it is likewise stored only in your phone’s Keychain.
    • Live chat messages are shown from memory for about 30 seconds only and are not stored.
  • Nothing is sent to the developer’s servers: sign-in and API calls go directly from your phone to Google / YouTube; the developer operates no server that receives this data.
  • No other use: we do not sell this data, do not use it for advertising, do not use it for user profiling, do not share it with any third party, and no human reads it.
  • Revoking access: you can sign out under “Settings → Live” in the App, or at any time go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove Battle Bey X’s access.

Google API Services User Data Policy. Battle Bey X's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See the Google API Services User Data Policy.

The App uses YouTube API Services. By using this feature you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. For how Google handles your data, see the Google Privacy Policy.

3. Push notifications

The App offers optional push notifications to tell you when new products go on sale or are restocked. This feature is off by default; it takes effect only after you turn it on yourself on the “Flash-sale alerts” page and grant the system notification permission.

Notifications are sent by a service operated by the developer (using Cloudflare compute and storage) and then delivered to your device through Apple Push Notification service (iOS) or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android). To deliver notifications to your device, the developer stores the device push token described in Section 1 — an identifier that can only be used to send notifications to this device, cannot be used to identify you, and is not shared with ad services or any third party. You can stop notifications at any time by turning off the push switch on the “Flash-sale alerts” page or by turning off the App’s notification permission in system settings.

4. Camera and recording (Battle recording, Practice recording)

The App (iOS and Android) offers optional “Battle recording” and “Practice recording”: battle recording lets you replay a match afterwards and check for fouls; practice recording draws spin speed, stop time and the launch curve directly onto the video. About these features:

  • Entirely optional: camera permission is requested and the camera used only when you start recording yourself; the App does not access the camera when you are not recording.
  • Stays on your device: recorded videos are always stored in the App’s private space on your device and are not uploaded to any server, not sent to the developer, and not shared with any third party (including ad services).
  • Audio (can be turned off): recordings include the sound around you by default; you can turn this off under “Settings > Recording”. If microphone permission is denied, the App still records video without sound. Audio, like video, stays only on your device.
  • You stay in control: you can replay clips, delete a single clip or all clips at any time under “Settings > Recorded clips”. You may also export a clip to your own photo library; the App writes to the library only when you actively export (iOS requests “add-only” permission; Android 10 and later need no extra permission; Android 9 and earlier request storage write permission).
  • Automatic clean-up: to avoid using too much space, the oldest clips beyond the retention limit are deleted automatically. Deleting or uninstalling the App also removes all videos.

Because videos may capture you or other people present, please make sure those present are aware of and agree to the recording before you start, and observe local rules about filming other people.

5. Meet-ups, user content and safety

  • Publicly visible: the meet-ups, tournaments and comments you post, together with your nickname, can be seen by any user. Please do not put phone numbers, home addresses, social-media accounts or other personal data you do not want public in them.
  • Terms of use: before your first post the App shows the terms of use and asks you to agree. Harassment, false information, and illegal or inappropriate content are prohibited.
  • Reporting and blocking: every meet-up and comment can be reported, and you can block specific users; blocked users’ content never appears on your screen. The developer commits to handling reports within 24 hours; violating content is removed and violators are suspended.
  • Automatic expiry: an ordinary meet-up lasts at most 12 hours; a tournament expires after its event day. Meet-ups and tournaments that expired more than a day ago are deleted automatically together with their comments.
  • Age requirement: posting and commenting are limited to users aged 13 or older; see Section 9.

6. How we use information

  • Showing ads to keep the App free.
  • Measuring ad performance and preventing abuse.
  • Delivering sale and restock notifications to your device when you turn on push notifications.
  • Providing meet-ups, comments and the spin-speed leaderboard, recognizing the same account, and showing your nickname and results.
  • Reviewing reports, handling violating content and suspending accounts to protect other users.
  • Confirming sponsor status and providing sponsor features.
  • When you choose to sign in to YouTube, providing the live-streaming feature: detecting your live broadcast, obtaining stream settings and showing live-chat messages (only the three purposes listed in Section 2-2).
  • Maintaining and improving the operation of the App.

7. Third-party services

The App uses the following third-party services. How they handle data is governed by their own policies:

8. Your choices and controls

  • iOS: under “Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking” you can turn off the App’s permission to request tracking; under “Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising” and device settings you can reset or limit the advertising identifier to receive non-personalized ads.
  • Android: under “Settings > Google > Ads” you can delete your advertising ID and turn off ad personalization to receive non-personalized ads.
  • You can stop push notifications at any time by turning off the push switch on the App’s “Flash-sale alerts” page or by turning off the App’s notification permission in system settings.
  • You can keep using scoring, practice, flash-sale alerts and meet-up browsing without signing in.
  • You can sign out at any time, or delete your account directly in the App (see Section 10).
  • You can sign out of YouTube under “Settings → Live” in the App, or go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions to remove Battle Bey X’s access (see Section 2-2).

9. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for the general public and is not designed for children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Features that require sign-in (posting meet-ups, commenting, the leaderboard) are limited to users aged 13 or older: on iOS this is covered by the age rules of “Sign in with Apple”; on Android you must declare that you are at least 13 before signing in. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete the account and related data. If you believe a child has provided data to us, please contact us using the details below.

If you use “Battle recording” or “Practice recording” and a child is captured, that video is stored only on your own device; the developer cannot access it and does not collect it. If the subjects include other people’s children, please obtain consent from their parents or guardians first.

10. Deleting your account and data (Battle Bey X)

To delete your Battle Bey X account and related data, follow these steps:

  1. Open Battle Bey X and sign in with the method you used to create the account (iOS: Sign in with Apple; Android: Sign in with Google).
  2. Tap the “Settings” tab.
  3. In the “Account” section (“Player profile” on iOS), tap “Delete account”.
  4. Confirm once more in the confirmation dialog. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

This is a real deletion, not a deactivation. If you can no longer sign in or use the App, you can also email shchen0424@gmail.com with your nickname and we will help delete it.

When you delete your account, the following are deleted with it:

  • Your account data (user identifier, nickname, sponsor status).
  • All meet-ups, tournaments and comments you posted.
  • Your block list, and the records of you being blocked by others.
  • Your spin-speed leaderboard results (including past months).
  • Your Discord link record; the sponsor role is revoked.

Data that is not deleted, or is held by others:

  • Reports you made in the past: kept to cross-check repeat violators, but its link to you is removed; processed reports are deleted after 90 days at most.
  • The “Use your sponsorship on Android” link record (the Google account identifier and the sponsorship transaction identifier): when you delete your account its association with your account is removed, but the record itself is kept, to maintain the rule that “a sponsorship can be linked to only one Google account” and so that this Google account continues to enjoy the sponsorship on Android. If you want this record deleted as well, email shchen0424@gmail.com and tell us how to identify your Google account; we will help.
  • Purchase records: held by Apple or Google, not by the developer; please ask that platform.
  • Data collected by ad services: handled by Google AdMob under its policies; see the links in Section 7.
  • Data that exists only on your own device (battle records, practice records, etc.): the developer cannot access it, and removing the App clears it.

If you only want to take down some content without deleting your account: you can cancel the meet-ups or tournaments you posted directly in the App, without deleting the account.

Retention of other data: the developer does not keep personal identity data such as your name or email address. The device push token is deleted when you turn off the push switch in the App or remove the App; the system also clears it automatically when Apple or Google reports that the token is no longer valid. Meet-ups and tournaments are deleted automatically together with their comments more than a day after they expire. The spin-speed leaderboard works by month; past months’ results are kept for displays such as “last month’s champion” until you delete your account. Battle and practice videos stay on your device, and you decide whether to keep or delete them (see Section 4).

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any change will be posted on this page and the “Effective date” above will be updated.
